In the 1999 season, the graduate of the Republican Sports Boarding School was recognized as the best left forward in the championship, and played for the ambitious FC «Access Golden Grain» from Petropavlovsk, which eventually lost the championship race to the Pavlodar FC Irtysh. The next year, history repeated itself. «Access Golden Grain» was in the lead for most of the tournament distance, but in the end lost the golden match to FC Zhenis. In both silver seasons, the Best Footballer award was won by Igor Avdeev.
