• 1996-1998.
  • Oleg VOSKOBOINIKOV (04.07.1971, Shymkent).
A prominent representative of the goalkeeper school of South Kazakhstan football, he held the title of Best Footballer in the country for three seasons in a row. In 1996, in many respects his impeccable play at the last stage provided FC Taraz with gold medals in the championship. In many matches his net remained untouched.
  • In 1997, he played superbly in the first stage of qualifying for the AFC World Cup France 98, especially in matches against Iraq, and in the second stage in home games against Japan and Korea. Perhaps this was the fundamental factor for the functionaries to ultimately place Voskoboynikov higher than Ust-Kamenogorsk FC Vostok midfielder Pavel Evteev, who also had a great season.
  • In 1998, Oleg Voskoboynikov played for the Kyzyl-Orda «Kaysar-Hurricane», and for the
third time in a row, he was recognized as the best football player in Kazakhstan.
