This is a living symbol of Ekibastuz football school in the 1980s and 90s. He is the top scorer in the history of the team, with which he won the 1989 Kazakh SSR Cup and silver medals of 1993. In that silver season, he became the top scorer among the teams at the final stage of the Kazakhstan championship – 26 goals scored in 42 matches. Of these, one hat-trick, four doubles. After which he played in Finland, where he received the nickname «Mr. Top Hat».
